Konga nominates to contest Jiwaka Regional seat

Former Chief Executive Officer of Boarder Development Authority Fred Auara Konga nominated on Thursday at Kurumul in Jiwaka to contest for Jiwaka Regional Seat in the 2017 elections.

 

 

He is an independent candidate vying for the seat currently held by the incumbent Dr William Tongamp.

The total number of candidates who contested for the regional seat was 52, previously 48 candidates.

Konga said he wants to develop the province from his administrative skills as a former CEO of Boarder Development Authority and other senior positions he held in the public sector and private.

His supporters created a convoy with buses and trucks from along the Highlands Highway to Kurumul Provincial Headquarters

Jiwaka Province in this election has seen 136 candidates nominated to contest for Jiwaka Provincial Seat and the three respective districts.

52 candidates for Jiwaka Provincial Seat, Anglimp South Waghi with a total of 30 candidates, North Wahgi with 29 candidates and Jimi with 25 candidates.
