East Sepik police happy with community

Police in East Sepik are happy so far with the cooperation shown by the community as nominations start for the 2017 National Elections.

Provincial Police Commander Peter Philips told PNG Loop that people have been orderly and  are going about their business as usual  and supporting their candidates that are nominating.

PPC Philips says he is motivated that the province is ready to carry out the 2017 elections given the positive start so far.

Meantime, Philips adds that the current police manpower will be boosted come the polling period.

He anticipates that most electorates would be okay revealing that many voters and scrutineers have given the indication that they are gearing up for the election process in an orderly and peaceful manner.

“The outcome and success of this elections should be the responsibility and priority of everyone not only the election officials and security personnel”, he reiterates.

A mobile squad is anticipated to be deployed at the start of the polling period, however Philips would not confirm how many personnel will be on the ground.

He is yet to confirm reinforcement numbers.
