With few hours to go before close of nominations, sitting Member for Moresby North East electorate Labi Amaiu nominated at Jack Pidik Park to retain his seat in the 2017 National Elections.

Amaiu is contesting under the Peoples National Congress Party and was the 29th candidate to nominate for the Moresby North East seat.

Amaiu said after his nomination that he is confident to retain the seat and has performed in the last four years.

“Actions speak louder than words and we have very good contenders for the seat.

“I am very confident because I have worked very hard in the last four years to maintain the people’s confidence.

“I have given water to communities and empowered them through their associations.

“I’ve done what I have put in the last four years and I need to come back to complete what I have started,” Amaiu highlighted.

Amaiu added that as a candidate contesting under PNC, he is confident that PNC is coming back very strong.

“We cannot say much about the negativity but on the positive side, PNC has formed the only Government that has performed in the last 41 years and delivered in many circumstances.

“We have delivered to the highest capacity and if I was not part of the Government, then I wouldn’t have got that assistance that would have empowered me to deliver,” Amaiu said.

Amaiu is among over 35 candidates contesting the Moresby North East seat.
