Youths to lead Stations of the Cross in NCD

This Easter Catholics and faithful’s in the nation’s capital will once again walk the Stations of the Cross tomorrow morning as part of their Easter ritual.

According to the Archdiocese of Port Moresby the route will start at the St John’s Parish at 4am led by the St John’s parish.

Station 2 will be at TST Fire where St Pauls’s parish will lead with the prayers then on to the Kone Tigers area where St Charles parish will receive the cross.

The fourth station at Dream Inn will be led by Mary Queen of the Pacific and UPNG Youths, then St Martin de Porres youths will lead at station 5 at the Vulupindi bus stop.

At the Islander village junction, St Peter and Holy name of Jesus youths will lead with station 6 then onto station 7 at Theodist where the Sacred Heart Parish youths will lead.

Over to Abel Computing for station 8, Holy Rosary parish youths will lead then St Michael Parish youths will be waiting at station 9 at the Department of Works.

The procession will then move onto to station 10 which will be at Tabari House, led by ST Mary’s youths, then over to Murray Barracks junction where Christ the King parish youths will lead.

From Murray Barracks the cross will then be carried to the Pacific International junction will be looked after by the Marty Help of Christians youths who will hand of to the Military and Police chaplaincy youth at Manu Auto-Port.

From Manu Auto Port the St Joseph, Anglican and DBTI youths will carry the cross onto the Mary Help of Christian Shrine at the DBTI campus.

PNG Archbishop John Ribat is encouraging all Catholics and believers alike to take part in this annual act of faith.

He says that the stations of the cross should serve not only  as a reminder of the suffering that Jesus Christ went through to die on the cross but also an opportunity for many to reconnect with the core principles of the Christian faith.
