Youngsters graduate from Cheshire Disability Centre

38 youngsters graduated today from the Cheshire Disability Services in Port Moresby commemorating International Day for Persons with Disabilities.

The event saw 26 students from early childhood care and development and 12 children with special needs graduate during the mainstream school integration ceremony.

Person with impaired hearing Venesa Oa thanked Cheshire on behalf of the graduants and said they had learnt a lot and were happy to move to mainstream schools.

National special education standard officer Arnold Koima congratulated the students for their achievement.

"Do your best and concentrate on school when you enter a mainstream school.

"Take what  you have learnt here at Cheshire and incorporate it at your new schools," said Koima.

He encouraged the parents to see their children's potential and help them develop it.

About 100 people including parents and students attended the ceremony.
