You can now register your interest in the Galaxy 7

The Samsung Galaxy S7 might still be more than a month away from its formal unveiling, but that hasn't stopped one retailer letting wannabe owners register their interest in the device.

Despite its still speculation-based status, Samsung's next-gen flagship phone has become the next must-have handset as a series of leaks point towards an impressive, iPhone 6S-rivalling specs sheet.

Now, smartphone seller Carphone Warehouse has started letting eager consumers register early interest in "Samsung's new Galaxy".

It is widely expected that the unnamed device - believed to be the Samsung Galaxy S7 - will be formally unveiled on February 21, the day before Mobile World Congress kicks off in Barcelona.

"There's been a huge amount of buzz around Samsung's new Galaxy smartphone and we're excited by the rumours we've already heard," an official spokesperson for the retailer stated.

"Based on last year's schedule, we're preparing ourselves for the possibility the new device will be launched at Mobile World Congress this year."

Early speculation has pegged the device to add new camera tech and iris-scanning security measures alongside a QHD display and Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 820 chipset.
