Video obtained by Associated Press on Thursday showed Iraqi Federal Police troops firing rockets and mortars at strategic positions on the outskirts of Ramadi, west of Baghdad, reportedly held by the Islamic State group.
Various parts of Anbar province are still under the control of IS militants who seized much of northern and western Iraq in a blitz last summer and now control about a third of both Iraq and Syria.
