Train-on squad announced for FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup

41 girls from around the country have been named in the Papua New Guinea Football Association train on squad for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup 2016.

The event will be staged from 30 September - 21 October next year  in Jordan.

Over the course of the 22 days, 16 teams will play a total of 32 matches across four stadiums.

The first camp will commence in a week time from 27 October - 06 November at PNGFA Academy in Lae.

The squad will then go for a week break before returning for the second camp from 23 November - 19 December.

The final 20 will be announced after the second camp to travel to Moresby on 04 January 2016 for a week preparation before departing for Cook Islands to take part in a tournament.

This tournament will be held in the Cook Islands from 9-23 January and will feature nine teams which have been split into two groups.

Group A contains Samoa, Tonga, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia and defending champions New Zealand.

Group B is made up of Fiji, Cook Islands, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals.

PNGFA Women's Football Development Officer Frederica Sakette asked the parents with the Local MA's to assist their players in travelling to PNGFA Academy in Lae.

The Squad: Port Moresby - Veronica Vanua, Grace Batiy, Dorcas Livuana, Margaret Joseph, Victyla Jackson, Joan Miping, Cheryl Ling, Marity Sep.  Lae - Natasha Sagem, Francis Mani, Selina Unamba, Alison Paulias and Serah Tambol.

Madang - Robertlyn Kig, Isabella Natera, Merdeces Hapoto, Marianne Niaman and Jennalyn Basse. Goroka - Eileen Daviaga and Samantha Mathan, Ramu - Faith Kasiray and Belinda Giada.

Wabag - Zenna Mendai, Anna Sos, Norah Naleng and Deborah Meledi, Wewak - Bridgit Paime, Amatha Mistera and Eswin Matlaun, Markham - Loreta Yagum and Lois Desmond, Mumeng - Delta Samson and Leahy Loi.

Kerema - Betany Morivaile and Anna Malara, Arawa - Jenta Tamaru and Sarah Matevai. Two players from Manus - Anila Robert and Sindy Frank. Doreen Martin from Kimbe and Dorothy Wamilat from Kavieng.
