Three murders reported in Gulf

The Gulf Province has reported three killings this festive period.

Gulf police commander Silas Wayagure says that all the murders were reported before Christmas.

The first murder was reported in the Lakekamu area when a man was attacked by the brother of a man he suspected of breaking into his house.

Police report that the victim approached the man’s house who  he suspected but was killed by the man’s brother who assumed that the victim was trying to kill his brother.

Reports state that the victim threatened the man with a bush knife but got into a fight with the man’s brother who chopped off his right hand causing him to bleed  to death.

The man is now in police custody.

In another case, Wayagure says that a man was attacked after returning home from a house krai at Uamai in Central Gulf.

Police have so far arrested two suspects.

Meanwhile, at Ihu, a father attacked and killed his daughter who was trying to burn down their family home.

Police report that the daughter, in her 20’s was caught by the father trying to burn down their house after they had an argument.
