Enga Province will house a state-of-the-art hospital.
This morning in Port Moresby saw the signing of the contract by the developer, financier and Department of Health at the Government House.
The hospital, to be located in Wabag Town, will cost K471 million.
A happy Enga Governor Sir Peter Ipatas said the hospital will be a referral hospital for the province.
He added that Exim Bank of China will fund the project at a loan of US$159.6 million (K471 million).
"National Government have already contributed K30 million in this year’s budget," Sir Peter said.
The Enga Provincial Hospital, once built, will have 300 beds and provide specialised treatment.
Sir Peter added that now the Department of Treasury will have to draw down the funding for the project to start.
