Slain Jeremiah to be laid to rest

The father of the late Jeremiah Yinu, the student killed allegedly by soldiers, says that the fight to get justice for his son is far from over.

Thomas Yinu says he is waiting to go back to court later this month.

However for this week, he says that he will lay his son to rest and focus on regrouping for the fight ahead to seek justice on the soldiers who bashed and killed his son.

Jeremiah’s body will leave the funeral home today and rest overnight at his family home at 7 mile as his friends and family spend the last hours with him before he is laid to rest after his funeral tomorrow (October 21st).

His father tells Loop PNG that an autopsy was carried out last week Monday (12th October) where it was established that Jeremiah died as a result of complications sustained from his head injury incurred in his brutal bashing from soldiers.

Jeremiah will be laid to rest at Nine Mmile near Port Moresby after his funeral service tomorrow morning at the Gordon’s Corner Stone Church.

For now, his father says that the main priority will be to deal with the body of his son, then he and his family will go from there.

The funeral service will start at 9am.
