Sight of disabled singsing performer touches hearts

A disabled person in a wheel chair was a lucky recipient of a thousand kina, courtesy of the ABG vice President Patrick Nisira.

The disabled person from Hangan village in the Tsitalato constituency took part in a sing sing group that was welcoming the VIPs attending the referendum workshop yesterday in Malasang village.

“I am really touched and the inside of me cried when I saw  a disabled person participating in the cultural group that welcomed us all into the women’s centre here in Malasang Village,” Mr Nisira said.

“This is a sign of equal participation by all members of the community in an important meeting to discuss and learn about referendum the thing that will determine our future.”

Mr Nisira said the fact that a disabled person braved himself to come out and participate with the community was a bonus for all other disables.

“As a leader and as a token of appreciation from me I would like to ask my officers who are with me here right now to organise one thousand kina for this very special person, thank you very much for participating with us  today,” Mr Nisira said.
