Security tight at Games venues

Police and volunteer security staff are doing a great job in ensuring that harmful objects are not taken into the SP Games sporting venues.

Security personnel at the BSP Stadium in Port Moresby said objects such as biros, perfume bottles, betel nuts and harmful weapons were being confiscated at all venues as part of their effort to promote a peaceful atmosphere at the games venues.

Police officers said so far the public had been cooperative in terms of following instructions when entering the venues to watch the sports.

The officials said they were looking forward to another historic closing without major problems on the weekend.
