Security to be tight at Kaugere league finals

Twenty Defence Force soldiers are hired to provide security for the Kaugere Rugby League Grand Finals this Sunday.

President of Kaugere Rugby Football League Brown Murema announced this to the Kaugere community during the launch of the league finals yesterday.

“The Association has liaised with PNG Defence Force and 20 men will be deployed on game time to provide security, 10 from Alpha Company and 10 from the Support Company,” Murema said.

“In addition will be police personals from Badili and Kaugere who will also be present to ensure the game is played smoothly and is enjoyed by everyone,” he said.

He added this is not to scare anyone but to ensure that we play a good final in 2016 after other local associations finals had ended with brawls.

President Murema also thanked the teams that took part in the competition for a wonderful season but expressed regret to the finalist for this year that their finals could not be played in one of the class stadiums in the city as last year due to stadium renovations and the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup event.

“We will be hosting our grand final match back here in Kaugere but will provide maximum security for our supporters and referees in ensuring that the game is played peacefully and ends cheerfully,” Murema stated.
