Reports of vote change ‘rubbish’: PM

Prime Minister Peter O’Neill says rumours that the National Executive Council had made a decision to bring back the “first past the post voting system” are untrue.

In a text message to LOOP News he described the reports as “rubbish and again gossip”.

The PNG Blog site published a report stating that the government had decided to abolish the Limited Preferential Voting system (LPV).

The National General Elections will be held in 2017 and the Electoral Commission is working towards ensuring a successful election.
