Rain forces draw in Barras and Western Grit match

The Hebou PNG Barramundis were just 19 runs away from a win this afternoon against Western Grit when rain washed out the remainder of the two day match forcing a draw.

Western Grit batted first and were all bowled out for 318 in the first innings yesterday. Daniel Drew was his side’s top scorer with 85 runs.

While for the Barras, Norman Vanua was good with the ball taking 3/86 off his 22 overs.

At their turn of bat today, the Barras got off to good start with good knocks from Lega Siaka (79) and Tony Ura (51).

The Barras looked certain of a win at 8/300 needing to hit 19 more runs for victory when the heavens opened up.

The heavy downpour forced the match to be drawn.
