Raibro Ltd starts work on next stretch of road

Port Moresby- based road construction company Raibro Limited has already started work on the next 10 kilometres of road in Buka.

The contract was officially signed by ABG Vice President Patrick Nisira and Raibro Managing Director Kieran Brown. The contract is worthK 21 million and will start from Salasa Village in the Hagogohe constituency all the way to Hagus Village in the Halia constituency.

Raibro has already mobilised all their equipment and are now assembled at their campsite in Buka. Locals have already enquired for employment, and a number of themĀ  have been engaged as casuals when the contract gets going. Steamships shipping vessel MV Hiri Chief was chattered to transport the equipment over to Buka.

The funding is from the National Governments special intervention fund of K100 million to Bougainville every year.

The previous contractor locally owned Jomik Plant Hire has already completed its work contract, from Malasang Village to Hagogohe, and people from those areas have no problem at all now traveling to and from work every day.
