Puma Energy supplies fuel for medical ship

The MV YWAM PNG medical ship is gearing up to depart the nation’s capital for the Gulf province this afternoon.

However, the ship needs fuel to head out into the open seas and Puma Energy has jumped right in with much needed help of fuel and lubricants for the medical ship.

YWAM Program Strategy and Partner Relations, Dr Sarah Dunn says the YWAM team is very excited and mounting up to head out to Kikori district in Gulf for the next two weeks.

“The main thing that we need to propel us to get out to those remote communities is fuel and it’s a real privilege to have our friends and our partners- Puma Energy for providing us the much needed fuel for our trips,” says Dr Dunn.

Meanwhile, the Puma Energy staff families, children and employees as well their executives tour the YWAM medical ship in return.

“This is to give them a chance to see what their investment does on board the ship,” Dr Dunn said.

She said it’s hard to overestimate the value but the fuel and lubricants literally propels them to get out to remote areas and injecting hope into the communities.

She added that they are thankful for the partnership that they have with Puma Energy.

Puma Energy supplies all of the MV YWAM PNG’s fuel needs which also include the small patrol tenders that can hold up to 20 people at a time and will be going out on shore for easy access with those on land.

“It’s a significant partnership and it’s a huge part in getting the ship out to those remote areas.”

More than 100 pupils will be on board the ship consisting of volunteers from 15 different nations as well as 25 nationals going on the trip to Gulf.

Volunteer of health professional, maritime team and general volunteers of young people will be on the trip to help as well.

MV YWAM PNG is set to sail out of Port Moresby by 4pm today.
