POMRFL plans upskill training program for officials

The Port Moresby Rugby Football League has plans in place to run an upskill training program for its officials.

POMRFL competition director Ben Kaupa said there’s a need for rugby league officials to undergo further skills training to stay on par with the changing rules and regulations of the game.

Kaupa said they’ll be working very hard in the coming months to bring upskill training program for our technical support staff like referees, linesmen and coaches.

“We need to look for new areas where we can promote and develop rugby league into a more competitive level.

“This is so we can be even more competitive with Australia, New Zealand and other big rugby league countries,” he said.

Kaupa also congratulated the POMRFL board and technical staff who have worked very hard to bring this season to an end.
