Lae police are working around the clock to locate the suspects involved in the attempted armed hold-up and consequent murder of late Dr Alphonse Rongap Snr.
Lae metropolitan superintendent Anthony Wagambie Jnr says that a suspect was apprehended at the same night of the attack.
Wagambie Jnr says community leaders have been involved in assisting police to identify suspects. Their identities are known but they are still on the run.
Police are working closely with members of the community to bring those responsible for this brutal attack into custody.
The prominent paediatrician was shot at the Lae back road last Saturday at around 10pm.
