Police: Festive operations a success

The people of Simbu Province have been commended for the peaceful celebrations held throughout Christmas and New Year periods.

Provincial Police Commander Albert Beli says most celebrations by residents of Kundiawa were kept indoors with only a few minor incidents.

He says this was the same for people throughout the districts.

Beli says the Simbu stretch of the Highlands Highway was also peaceful with no arrests of drunk drivers or any accidents at all.

He has attributed this success to the prior police work of creating awareness among communities in Simbu Province.

Policemen and women have also been commended for their tireless efforts in ensuring public safety.
