Police boss congratulates WNB for producing soccer stars

Police Commissioner Gari Baki has praised WNB for producing four soccer stars that participated in the recent FIFA Under 20 Womens World Cup in Port Moresby.

Baki congratulated the four soccer stars during the official opening of the Police Commissioner’s conference in Kimbe on Monday.

“I give credit to WNB also because you had a contingent going to the FIFA Games.

“The young women that came have a different perception of PNG. Before they came, their parents and guardians warned them about PNG but the three weeks they participated in FIFA changed their perception about PNG.

“So credit must also go to our people. On behalf of the police force I also want to say thank you to the people of PNG.

“And you WNB you have been following four of our players in the FIFA world Cup, credit must go to WNB.

“You’re producing brilliants girls that are participating in our competition. We must encourage soccer and I encourage lots of our young girls to take part.”

Baki further thanked his policemen and women for the safety and security of the players at the FIFA and encouraged them to keep striving in trying times.

He urged them to dedicate and commit themselves in the upcoming elections and deliver to the people.

“Lots of people will say all sorts of things against us but stand firm as policemen and women and do your job as long as you know that your commissioner stands behind you in the performance of your duties.”
