Poko arrested for assault

A police officer has been arrested and charged for threatening a fraud officer at his games village home in 2014.

Sargent Philip Poko was arrested on charges of attempted murder, perverting the course of justice and threatening.

NCD Central police Commander Sylvester Kalaut says this arrest is in relation to the case in 2014 that involved Detective Sergeant Patrick Primenga who was threatened at his home at Games village.

Kalaut says Pokop has been refused bail and is currently in police custody after being taken in by investigators yesterday.

Director of Crimes Moses Ibsagi clarified this report adding that given the sensitive nature of the case bail will be refused while investigators hold Pokop for questioning.
