BMT campaign is a fun and easy way for communities, business houses, friends and family to come together over a cup of tea and start the conversation about cancer.

The campaign gives the people of PNG access to education and information on cancer awareness and prevention.

PNGCF chief executive officer Dadi Toka Jr said the interest has grown which indicates the huge support they’re receiving towards the event and raising funds for cancer awareness.

In 2015, there were 37 Biggest Morning Teas hosted across PNG including Lae and Kavieng and over K100 000 raised.

Over 11,500 cancers awareness materials were distributed in 2015 which doubled the amount than the previous year.

This year, 55 Biggest Morning Teas have registered so far including 19 in Port Moresby and 36 throughout the country with new registrations coming in daily.

Towns involved include Madang, Aitape, Wewak and Bougainville.

Funds raised from this campaign will be used to educate the people of PNG how to protect their families from cancer.

PNGCF will also provide free cancer screening and workshops at various locations around the country, and work with partner organisations to improve cancer control across the country.

PNG Chamber of Mines and Petroleum hosted the first BMT today.
