PNG Women’s Forum applications now open

Applications are now open for the 2017 PNG Women’s Forum, to be held in Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province, on February 7-8, 2017.

The United States Embassy, the Papua New Guinea Tribal Foundation and the Department of Community Development recently made the announcement.

“This Regional Forum is in response to overwhelming requests from women across Papua New Guinea that the Forum extend its reach outside Port Moresby, this time to the Highlands Region,” says the Embassy in a statement.

“Women who serve in leadership roles within community and civil society groups, individual women leaders and women’s empowerment advocates, female entrepreneurs, emerging young leaders, up and coming public servants, and other leading women in the Highlands region should use the form to apply to participate in the 2017 Highlands Regional Forum.

“Men with a strong interest in women’s empowerment and gender equality are encouraged to apply as well.

Online application forms can be found at our Facebook page, U.S. Embassy Port Moresby, and on the following websites: portmoresby.usembassy.gov and pngtribe.org.”

Paper copies of the applications may be picked up from the U.S. Embassy Port Moresby, the American Corner in the PNG National Library in Waigani, Family Life Office of St. Mary’s Parish, Goroka, and Paula Haus Win, Mt Hagen.

Full instructions on the application process are included in the application packet.

Applications must be returned no later than Friday, January 6, 2017.
