PNG U20 Kapuls leads New Caledonia at break

Papua New Guinea U20 Kapuls led the first half 1-0 against New Caledonia in the OFC U20 championship in Vanuatu.

Papua New Guinea set off in the opening minute of the game as they ran downfield from the sideline with Peter Dabinyaba set free to cut in from the right but can't walk through easily from the first attempt as New Caledonia’s Mickael Ulile clears the attack.

In the 28 minute a succession of New Caledonia corner results in a great chance to Pothin Poma but saved brilliantly by PNG’s goal keeper Edward Lakae.

Ten minutes before Half time, New Caledonians were caught being too cute in possession in their own box when Alu AWI picks the loose ball and side foots it into the net as PNG lead 1-0.

Seconds before the half time siren, New Caledonians picked the pace to run into PNG backline but Papua New Guineans were too strong as they cut of the potential equaliser right at Halftime.
