PNG U20 go down in close game with NZ

The PNG U20 women played a stunning match against the New Zealand Development team at McLennan Park, Papakura yesterday.

New Zealand led 1-0 at the break before PNG replied to score an equaliser in the first minute of the second half.

The home side regrouped minutes after PNG’s goal to seal the win with another goal for a 2-1 victory.

PNG Coach Lisa Cole stressed that PNG still needs improve in a lot of areas especially in the defending positions.

Cole said PNG needs to make it difficult for teams to score against us in order to create more openings upfront for attacks and scoring.

However, the U20 played a stunning match performance against the New Zealand Development squad as they look forward for a rematch on Saturday before flying back to the country.
