PNG -Aust Business Council members meet leaders in Bville

THE Papua New Guinea /Australia Business Council are in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville now and are meeting with key business representatives in the region.

Team leader Peter Taylor and his team touched down in Bougainville on Tuesday and on the first day met with the BSP Buka branch and the Department of Mining officials.

On Wednesday a conference was held for different types of businesses at the Kuri Village Resort, where retailer’s agri business companies, and engineering firms were consulted.

Strengthening business ties, especially with tourism was one of the main topics discussed, the  team’s main objective was to get ideas and view of the current business flow in the region. The introduction of direct flights, and getting more tourists into the region was also discussed.

On Thursday the team will be travelling to Arawa where they will be meeting with the Arawa Business Association.

A tour of Arawa town, former Toniva township, tour of the former Arovo Island Resort, Pokpok Island. The team returns to Australia from Port Moresby on Saturday.
