P&B Cheung donate trophies for Gaire Rugby League Tournament

The Edge Cafe in Port Moresby, P&B Cheung donated over K3,000 worth of trophies to Gaire Rugby League last Friday.

President of the Gaire Rugby Football League Lohia Hera, was present to receive the donation, which was for a competition held over the weekend.

The nine club competition was for under 20's and open division, with a total of nine teams participating. More than 300 players participated in the event, which was held on Saturday, October 1 at Gaire Village.

When receiving the trophies, Hera said that this was the first time all trophies had been donated by one sponsor. He was overwhelmed at the support shown by P&B Cheung, and expressed  thanks to the Cheung and Johnston families.

The trophies were donated in the name of Peter and Betty Cheung, owners of P&B Cheung, wholesalers located at Koki, in Port Moresby.

When making the commitment to support the competition last Thursday, Managing Director of PBC, Kathy Johnston said she was happy to support the Gaire community.

She said Gaire was a community that had always been loyal customers of the store since the days of her parents, Peter and Betty.

The Trophies were presented to  Hera by Kathy's son Shane.
