Parliament takes three month break

Parliament will sit again on October 27th after it rose on Friday having dealt with some important laws of the country.

Over the course of last week Parliament passed laws on money laundering, and counter terrorist financing.
It also passed amendments made to the organic law on the Sovereign Wealth Fund.
Parliament also received notice of the Manam Resettlement Authority bill and approved a motion for the 400 year old King James Bible to be placed on the Clerk’s table in the chambers.
The Government is busy with preparations for the 2016 Budget which is expected to be handed down in November.
