Parker seeks release for medical attention

Jiwaka business man Justin Parker has gone to the Committal court seeking release from the Bomana Correction Service for medical treatment in Port Moresby.

His lawyer from the Public Solicitors office moved the application at the Committal court today (Oct 2) to have Parker who is reportedly suffering from hypertension be transported into the city to get medical treatment.

This application is for his release to seek further medical attention and is not a bail application.

Details of where he will be getting medical treatment and from who is unknown but his lawyer revealed in court that his client has been suffering from High Blood pressure which they believe is associated to the medical condition of his wife.

Parker has failed in two previous applications seeking bail before the National Court.

The Committal court this morning requested drafted orders of the application and has indicated it will endorse to Parker’s release for medical attention.

It is understood the orders once granted will be served also to the Bomana Correction Service Commander.

Parker is facing allegations of willfully murdering his chief aircraft engineer, the late Lapan Nason at his home at Gorobe, Badili on June 8.

He has since been detained at Bomana along with his co-accused Akai Andekumo also from Jiwaka.

Meanwhile, police have completed investigation into the alleged willful murder and have served both accused their handout brief files of their investigation.
