Pacific MMI sponsor POM Snooker Challenge with K20,000

Pacific MMI has continued its support to the Port Moresby Snooker Handicap Challenge sponsoring K20,000 to run the competition that starts this month.

This is the 10th year of Pacific MMI’s sponsorship to the annual event.

In a cheque presentation this morning, Port Moresby Billiards and Snooker Association President, John Chan thanked outgoing Pacific MMI Managing Director, Wayne Dorgan for his undivided support to snooker in the country.

He also welcomed Acting Managing Director, Andrew Gogo for continuing with Pacific MMI’s support.

“The continuing arrangement runs until 2018 and I thank Andrew Gogo for continuing to honour this arrangement left by Wayne,” said Chan.

Chan also thanked Gold sponsors- Plumbers and Builders Supplies and Graffiti Signs.

Gogo said Pacific MMI’s sponsorship was part of its community obligation of giving back.

He added that sponsoring more snooker competitions will help lift the standard of the sport that will make players become more competitive at an international level.

“We want to give the sport of snooker more prominence. Take it out of its enclosed environment and get more people involved to play.

“We have seen progress over the years and through more sponsorship, players can take part in more international events and lift the standard,” said Gogo.

The competition will cue off on October 27 and end with the finals on November 6.
