Pacific MMI first to register for Daffodil Golf challenge

The Pacific MMI Insurance is the first to register a team for the annual 2016 Daffodil Cup Golf Challenge set for Friday, August 12 at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club.

The annual charity golf challenge is organized by the Papua New Guinea Cancer Foundation.

It was launched on June 21 in Port Moresby with registration open to corporate companies and individual groups.

PMMI won the Cup back in 2014 and are keen to reclaim it from Heli Solutions, who were the 2015 winners.

The Port Moresby Daffodil Cup Golf Challenge is sponsored by Oil Search every year to raise funds for cancer prevention and education in PNG.

The PNGCF will use the funds from this event to conduct FREE mouth and breast cancer screening programs in six provinces within PNG in 2017.

The PNG Institute of Medical Research estimates that 1 in 10 deaths in PNG are cancer-related.

CEO of the PNG Cancer Foundation, Dadi Toka Jr says Daffodil Month which falls in the month of August, is aimed at providing hope for a healthier nation.

During the month, PNGCF encourages Papua New Guineans to challenge themselves to reduce their risk of cancer by making healthy lifestyle choices.

Corporate companies and individual groups can get more information and register a team through email: events@cancerfoundation.org.pg

Over 30 teams are expected to take part with early bird registration fee of K3, 000. Those that register as of August 1 will pay a fee of K3, 500.
