Oil Search’s future tied to PNG: Botten

Oil Search’s future is tied to Papua New Guinea, Chairman of the Oil Search Foundation Board and Managing Director of Oil Search, Peter Botten has revealed.

Botten in a statement when commending the Oil Search Foundation Annual Report said when a company’s success is so closely linked to the well-being of a nation, the nation’s issues become the company’s issues.

The Annual Report, “Building on Success”, released today ,provides a detailed overview of how the Oil Search Foundation is helping Papua New Guinea take the steps it needs to build a prosperous, stable and secure future.

The Annual Report describes the Foundation’s critical contribution in Oil Search’s commitment to building PNG’s capacity to deliver better and sustainable outcomes for its people.

The Report also describes the Oil Search Foundation’s 2015 move from a health-based organisation to one that is committed to a broader agenda and a wider mandate that includes Leadership and Education and Women’s Protection and Empowerment.

The Report also highlights the Foundation’s focus on more diverse partnerships, rigorous approach to performance measurement and reporting, and commitment to ensuring development of Papua New Guinean citizen staff as leaders and managers.

Besides a new strategic approach, the Oil Search Foundation continued to deliver strong results in the areas of malaria, HIV and maternal and child health during the year.
