NSL gate taking to be reviewed

Gate takings for the Telikom National Soccer games will be reviewed to benefit the participating teams this season.

TNSL board chairman Isaac Lupari confirmed that they will review that to make sure revenue that is generated is shared between the participating teams at the different venues.

Lupari said one of the reasons why they wanted to make sure that everybody went in free in past seasons is to get the people back to the game because soccer is a family game.

“We wanted the mums, dads and the kids get to get involved and support the sport,’’ he said.

“When we had the grand final in Lae last season we had a massive turnout and people paid to watch because of the investment we made in getting people to watch the matches during the season,” he said.

With the new venues in Moresby, gate fees are expected to be introduced again which will also benefit the teams.
