NRI to release its economic analysis this month

The National Research Institute has started its economic modelling unit that will be providing independent and objective analysis on the state of the economy twice a year.

That’s from its director, Dr Charles Yala.

The NRI economic modelling unit will be headed by Dr Osborne Sanida who is the economic policy research program leader and senior research fellow at the country’s think tank.

“The aim is to provide hard factual independent analysis away from official ones (from Treasury and Bank of Papua New Guinea),”Dr Yala said.

The first one has been completed, and is being finalized for release this month, Dr Yala added.

The economic analysis will be released twice a year in July and December.
