Nine Primary schools in the city participated in the first Digicel Cup school holiday program at the NFS stadium in Port Moresby today.
More than hundred Grade 7 students from nine primary schools participated in the one day event taking part in a variety of fun-filled activities including a special visit from the Port Moresby-based Digicel Cup players as well as reps from the SP PNG Hunters.
The students learnt the basics of Rugby League and the first aid approaches to injuries on field of play including a game of touch rugby before certified by Digicel PNG with certificate of participation.
This event will mark the start of this school program in its inaugural year at developing the health and wellbeing of children, moreover, encourage fitness.
