National softball champs: Day 2

Day two of the 2015 national softball championships has come to a close with the men’s main game of the afternoon seeing Madang Fox beating newcomers Wewak 9-4.

Madang faced an unpredictable Wewak side but managed to hold on to eventually come out victors over the Wewak side who are taking part in the softball championships for the first time.

In the other men’s results, Madang Kings thrashed Manus 12-0 while the Canberra Giants crushed East New Britain Softball League (ENBSL) 10-2.

The Port Moresby Melonas held off a strong Buluminski side to draw 4-4 while the NCD Meros pulled off a scrappy win over Manus 7-1.

In the women’s games, Port Moresby Gold were too strong for the Port Moresby Black girls handing them a 11-5 score line.

Port Moresby Gold faced up against Madang and came away winners 6-1.

In the main game of the afternoon, Buluminski thumped the Port Moresby Black side winning 12-1.
