Music artists to rock Cosmo in charity concert

Three music artists will join talents for a charity concert at the Cosmopolitan this Saturday.

PNG’s Alyson Joyce and Justin Wellington will feature Australian hip-hop artist URTHBOY to raise funds for Doctors Without Borders, an international humanitarian-aid non-governmental organisation (NGO).

Doctors Without Borders, also known as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), is best known for its projects in war-torn regions and developing countries facing endemic diseases, including Papua New Guinea.

Performing their hit singles, the three artists will combine funk, reggae and hip-hop for a night of good cause.

URTHBOY, whose birth name is Tim Levinson, is already in the country and will be returning to Australia on Sunday.

He released his first solo album “Distant Sense of Random Menace” in 2004 and has since released several singles and various albums.

He has been accompanied by his band and fellow female vocalists Meklit, Claire and Kira Puru.

With his wife being a doctor, URTHBOY has always supported doctors and particularly the work of this humanitarian organisation.

He is happy to use his music towards a cause that will positively impact PNG.

In a brief meet with the media today, Wellington also expressed similar sentiments, stressing on the power of music.

He acknowledged the event organisers and hopes many people come for the concert.

He promised to play all his hits, including Much Love, Fire, Island Moon and She Don’t Know, among others.

Tickets will be sold for K40 at the gate tomorrow night, (November 19). The concert begins at 7.30pm through to 11pm.
