The model who stood out on the runway

Beautiful Salome Tibola stood out on the catwalk last Friday because of one thing – her dark complexion.

The phrase ‘black is beautiful’ rang true that evening.
24-year-old Tibola more than did justice to the outfits she wore onto the Stella runway that night.
People from the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (ARoB) are known for their very dark complexion. But to the founder and owner of Platinum Australia Model Management Company Jade Turnbull, Salome was the girl with the unique look.
She was chosen with three other models to undergo deportment courses with the agency.
“I’m so excited that all my hard work has paid off,” she told Loop PNG over a phone interview.
Salome has been taking deportment courses with the World Supermodel PNG with the aim to represent PNG in the international beauty pageant next year.
This partnership with Platinum Australia will further boost her profile, bringing her closer to her dream in modelling.
She is currently the assistant site supervisor for AGL Builders Ltd.
