Marum: It’s back to the drawing board

Coach of the SP Hunters, Michael Marum, says it’s back to the drawing board again to improve for another tough encounter next Sunday.

While Marum was pleased with yesterday’s narrow 18-16 win, he said the team still struggled through patches of the game.

“We knew it was going to be a really tough one playing against the premiers from last year.

“The Jets really played well all throughout the game. The Jets play a different style of football and we were prepared for that.

“But there were some stages in the game where we just made too many errors that allowed them back in the game. But I’m still happy with the result we had,” said Marum.

He added that it’s back to the drawing board for the team to prepare for their toughest game yet against the competition leaders – the Burleigh Bears.

“We are awaiting medical reports but right now, there are no serious injuries except to Adam Korave,” said Marum.

“We have to see where we can improve and make sure we don’t get off to a bad start like what we did against the Jets.

“Our boys in the middle lacked off a bit and we struggled to get back to sets so we have to fix that,” said Marum.
