Marat suggests pension scheme for locals

There is a need for a pension scheme to be set up for old people who have contributed evocatively towards the development of East New Britain Province.

Member for Rabaul Dr Allan Marat says there is a need to fund a special pension scheme so as to provide some financial assistance to those who had once worked to make and improve the economy of ENBP, one way or the other.

This includes people who have spent their time and effort in cultivating the land to produce cash crops like cocoa, copra and vegetables.

Marat put forward a challenge to the ENB Provincial Government to consider and at least come up with some sort of plan and policy to have this proposal approved and put into action.

They have contributed to the vision of the province, which is to keep improving at all levels of economic growth, Marat added.
