Madang prepares for cruise ship Pacific Aria

Madang Town residents have been urged to tidy up in preparation for a visit on Sunday,February 21 of tourist cruise ship Pacific Aria。

Madang Town care-taker manager Peter ToRot in a circular yesterday advised all town residents,  business houses and institutions to maintain clean all the easements of land adjoining the urban road。

“Ensure the easements or land urban road in the frontage and surrounding of your premises are kept clean and free from general refuse and discarded materials, plastic bags, tall vegetation, betelnut spittle and skin and so on,”

“We seek your cooperation for a cleaner and beautiful Madang town,”  ToRot stated.

Pacific Aria is a cruise ship of P&O Cruises Australia. Built for the Holland America Line in 1994 as the Ryndam, in November 2015 it was transferred to P&O Cruises Australia and renamed.

It was officially renamed in Sydney by Jessica Mauboy on 25 November 2015. It sails under the P&O Australia brand out of Australian ports year round.

Madang-based Melanesian Tourist Services is the excursion agent for tourists during the arrival at Madang port.

MTS agent Wesley Hantan said they have already organized three tours for the tourists. These include a mini-festival at the Sugen Aben Park near Madang Resort Hotel, a habour cruise on board MTS’s Kalibobo Spirit in Madang harbor and the nearby islands and  village experience to Bilibil village near the town.
