Let common sense prevail – police minister

Police Minister Robert Atiyafa is calling on members of the disciplinary forces to exercise control and let common sense prevail.

He said this following Friday’s incident where police vehicles were damaged by soldiers after one of their comrade was wounded  in a high speed police car chase.

He says this is not the first time such and police should immediately take action on those involved.

“Disciplinary forces are supposed to be protecting lives and property and not putting fear into people,” Atiyafa says.

He has been given a brief on the incident and expects police and the Defence force to take action once investigations are complete.

Atiyafa says he expects appropriate actions to be taken against those involved.
