Lamana and Beachside Brasserie to provide catering at FIFA World Cup

Lamana Hotel and Beachside Brasserie will be providing catering services during next month’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

The VIP & Corporate catering contracts were signed yesterday by the two leading hoteliers and restaurateurs.

Lamana Hotel and Beachside Brasserie will provide high quality food and beverage to all local and international VIPs and corporate guests throughout the three-week tournament.

Local Organising Committee (LOC), Chief Executive Officer Seamus Marten, says both companies have fulfilled all of FIFA’s requirements in terms of food range and specifications during their successful taste testing sessions.

“As you know, the world will be coming to PNG, so it’s important our caterers are able to provide special dietary requirements and also give our international visitors a sampling of our local cuisine,” said Marten.

General manager for Beachside Brasserie, Antoinette Mapai, said their restaurant has been involved in a lot of events, including the recent Pacific Games last year, and it was an honour for them to be catering during this international event.

Both companies submitted their Expression Of Interest amongst a host of other catering companies and were given the nod due to their experience, capacity and local food knowledge.

Lamana Hotel’s assistant hotel manager, Jacquie Simons, thanked the LOC for giving them the opportunity to showcase their international and local cuisines to the VIPs and corporate clients that will be at the tournament.

“Not a lot of people know that we offer catering services and we are looking forward to impressing our international guests,” said Simons.
