Lae Tigers hold narrow lead in Digicel Cup

Round 16 of the Digicel Cup gets underway tomorrow as competition nears the business end of the season.

The Lae Tigers continue to hold top spot on the point’s ladder but only by a narrow point.

The same can be said for teams sitting second, third and fourth.

There could be a change in the top five this weekend in the race to the finals.

At 2pm, the Hela Wigmen (5th) takes on Agmark Gurias (4th) up in Mendi.

Also at 2pm is the showdown between last placed Gulf Isapea and Waghi Tumbe in Minj.

In Kundiawa, the Simbu Lions lock horns with Goroka Lahanis while the Port Moresby Vipers play host to the Mt. Hagen Eagles at home in the nation’s capital.

The Vipers are sitting just outside the top 8 and will desperately want a win to book their spot in the finals.

The game in Lae will be a blockbuster as the Lae Tigers go head to head with the Mendi Muruks.

The Tigers will play hard to secure the top spot while the fifth placed Muruks are looking to advance further up the ladder.
