Kuman appointed to South Pacific Lawyers association

President of the PNG Law Society Peter Kuman has been elected to the Executive Committee of the South Pacific Lawyers Association (SPLA).

 Kuman who is the principal owner of Kuman Lawyers was elected to the executive committee during the second SPLA conference in Brisbane which was held on September 17 and 18.

Kuman will serve on the executive committee for two years and he has pledged to work closely with SPLA for the betterment of the PNG Law Society.

The conference held in Brisbane had the largest number of participants from the PNG Law Society.

The South pacific Law Association works to support the development of its member law societies and bar associations to promote the interest of the legal profession in the region.

It does so through improving the delivery of legal education, advocating law reforms, legal aid and through the sharing of legal information resources.

The Association includes members of the American Samoa Bar association, Cook Islands, East Timor, Fiji, Kiribati Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, Norfolk, PNG, Samoa, Solomon, Tuvalu, Vanuatu Law Associations and Bar Associations including the Law Council of Australia.
