Kiap praises good policing at airport

The Betelnut Ban controller Honk Kiap has come out praising the work of police at the airport for cracking down on betelnut and mustard smuggling coming into NCD .

He also clarified that mastard or “daka” will also be confiscated if found in large amounts under the Betelnut Ban laws.

Kiap says that mustard or daka is the main component to betelnut which, when chewed causes the red spittle that brings on the “high feelings” associated with the drugs. However, it is the spitting in public and the wanton trashing of the betelnut skin that causes health risks that has brought about the NCDC  law to ban the two substances.

He says that while they are complaining about the issue of mustard, those  engaged in smuggling Mustard into the city are breaching NCDC’s Betelnut Ban law.

Kiap added that the same penalties enforced on betelnut smugglers will also apply to those who deal with mustard smuggling as well.
