Kapuls go into camp ahead of friendly matches

The Papua New Guinea National Football team will be in camp this week in Port Moresby before leaving for their trial matches in Malaysia.

The team started training on Tuesday with the three young debutants, Stahl Gubag and Kolu Kepo, as well as New Zealand based Rodney Mobiha, included in a squad comprised largely of players from the OFC Nations Cup campaign.

Overseas based players have been released from by their club management and will start arriving today for the week-long training.

Head Coach Flemming Serritslev said players have arrived in camp excited at the prospect of trialing in the two  lead up games set against Malaysia and Iran next week.

Coach Serritslev said, “The trial matches is a good opportunity for us to see the players in this competitive environment and it gives us a good chance to see what they can do in 90 minutes.”

The team will leave for Malaysia next Tuesday to face Iran on November 11 and Malaysia on November 14.
