Jiwaka sends 57 policewomen to Lae Conference

The Jiwaka Provincial Government (JPG) has supported the policewomen in the province in assisting them to attend the 9th Police Women’s conference in Lae, Morobe Province from the May 2-6, 2016.

Despite being a new province the JPG has recognised the importance of Community Policing  and came to the aid of the policewomen who are representing the province at the conference.

The Jiwaka Provincial Women’s representative and former Sargent Maria Kele and head of the Provincial Social Services Stefan Wusik represented JPG and accompanied the policewomen from the province to Lae.

Maria Kele said as it was for the first time the 57 Jiwaka-based policewomen have represented the province in attending the conference the Jiwaka Provincial Administration has decided to step in and assist with logistics and other requirements.

Senior Sergent Rownie Akim said the policewomen are really pleased with the support that the Jiwaka Provincial Government has shown and are happy to participate in this police women’s conference to enhance their knowledge and in turn bring back some change to the province to better serve the people of Jiwaka.

Sargent Akim said they will officially thank the Jiwaka Provincial Government went they returned to the province after the conference.
